Who we are

These terms are between you and Adam Doherty, trading as AdamJDCoaching, based in Derry, Northern Ireland. When these terms say Adam, they mean him, and when they say you, they mean the person buying coaching. You must be 18 or over. Nothing in these terms takes away the rights you have by law as a consumer.

The service

AdamJDCoaching provides online weight loss coaching. This is a plan built from your own numbers, your own week and your screening questionnaire, with one considered change a week, and a weekly written check in that Adam reads and answers himself. Your twelve week plan runs inside your first three months.

Hybrid coaching adds one in person session a week in Derry. This is subject to Adam's availability, and is arranged after a consultation call. Your session time, how to move a session and what happens to a missed session are agreed with Adam and confirmed by email before you pay.

Price

Online coaching costs £179 a month. The first five online clients pay a founding rate of £149 a month for their first six months by using the code FOUNDING at checkout, after which it moves to £179 a month.

Hybrid coaching costs £219 a month.

The price shown at checkout is the price charged. Payment is taken monthly in advance by card.

Term and cancellation

Your first term is an initial three calendar months. This is because the plan is a twelve week programme and needs that run to work. You are billed monthly by card subscription through Stripe.

After the initial three months, coaching continues month to month. To leave, email Adam at least 14 days before your next payment date and he confirms your last payment date in writing. Nothing is taken after that date. Outside your legal right to cancel below, a month that has already started is not refunded, except as set out in these terms.

Your legal right to cancel

Because you buy at a distance, you have 14 days after the day you pay, which is the day the contract is made, to cancel for any reason under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Email or message Adam and say clearly that you want to cancel. Any clear statement counts. Your refund is paid within 14 days of your message.

If you want your plan built and coaching to start inside those 14 days, Adam asks you to confirm that request in writing, separately from your screening answers, and keeps a record of it. If you make that request, your plan is sent to you, and you then cancel inside the 14 days, Adam keeps a fair proportion of the month for the coaching already provided and refunds the rest. If Adam has not received that request and you cancel inside the 14 days, your refund is in full. If the screening stopped coaching going ahead, the section below applies and the refund is in full.

Starting coaching

Coaching starts once Adam has read your questionnaire and approved your plan, usually within two working days of receiving it.

If we cannot coach you safely

If the safety screening in your questionnaire means Adam cannot coach you safely, for example you are under 18, pregnant, have a diagnosed eating disorder, or a medical condition your GP has not cleared for exercise, Adam tells you straight, no plan is issued, you get a full refund of everything you have paid, actioned by Adam within two working days, and your subscription is cancelled. The same applies if Adam decides at the screening stage that he is not the right coach for you.

If you do not send your questionnaire

If you do not send your questionnaire within 14 days, Adam will chase you. Your subscription keeps running because your place is held, and you can cancel it under the notice rule above.

Not medical advice

This coaching is not medical advice. See your GP before starting if you have any health condition. You follow the plan at your own risk, and you should tell Adam immediately if you feel pain, dizziness, or anything unusual. No specific result is promised.

Your responsibilities

You agree to answer honestly, to complete your weekly check in, and to tell Adam about any changes in your health.

Our responsibilities

Adam agrees to read every check in, to reply within one working day, and to keep your information confidential.

If Adam has to end your coaching

If a change in your health puts your coaching outside what Adam can safely coach, or he cannot continue for another reason that is not your doing, he tells you, refunds any part of the current month you have paid for but not received, and your commitment ends with it.

Intellectual property

The documents Adam gives you, including your plan, are for your own personal use only.
